Photowalk at 1940's Air Terminal and ABC Photo Project

I've been surfacing the website just trying to absorb everything I can about photography. I found a website www.meetup.com and recently joined a Group called Houston Photowalks. http://www.houstonphotowalks.com/

Each month they organize a meetup event. This month it will be at 1940 Air Terminal Museum here in Houston. http://www.1940airterminal.org/ I am for sure going to this to see what kind of trouble I can get into! Pictures to follow soon...

Also, I will be tackling the "ABC" project which is another (beat the heat) virtual event that you can do at your home/work/garage/nail salon, etc. For this project, you simply find letters of the alphabet in everyday objects. Two arches make an "M". A bike tire makes an "O". A close-up shot of a fence link makes a "V". You get the idea.

My "assistant" (my 11 year old daughter, Karli, LOL) and I have already started in our courtyard at home. I'm loving this project so far because it's forcing me to be more observant and to take a minute to apprecate the beautiful things around me. I will be posting my progress to my flickr account. I will post the link tonight once I have it up and running! Wish me luck...
